Re: Proper Body Weight Gain?

Chris,

Thank you for your response! I will give the hearty breakfast a try. I think in order for me to actually be able to eat the meal would be to pre make it. Just cook it the night before and microwave it or something when I wake up. Probably need around 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, and two pieces of toast and butter to get the 800 which is really do-able. I've read that it's best to eat within 15 minutes of waking up for your body because it's, in a way, starved since dinner. That's the reason why I slam a shake because it's easy to get down right when I wake up and then I eat the bagel on my drive. Do you recommend completely ditching the shake in the AM and strictly do the breakfast and waiting 30-45 minutes after waking up to eat?

Yeah, no need for the shake if you eat a good breakfast. Listen, and I know it will be sacrilege here, but if you are pressed for time get a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel at McDonald's and a hash brown on your way to work. Plenty of cals and fast.

Lol. I'll use that as my "plan b" for the mornings haha. I mean I wouldn't be getting a deep fried mcgriddle...the BEC bagel can't be TOO unhealthy for you...just that hash brown patty but those are SO good!

Re: Proper Body Weight Gain?

How about some variation of a so called "bulletproof coffee" in the morning?

Like a cup or two of strong coffee, fresh, add in butter, coconut oil and some protein, can be collagen or whey. kcal and protein can easily be adjusted based on your needs.

Hmm, never heard of the stuff Dare. I did a quick research of it and it seems pretty interesting! How well does it taste though?! Anyone ever heard or try this stuff out?

Re: Proper Body Weight Gain?

I love the taste, but many dont.

Give it a try but do experiment. Stuff like coconut oil can add flavor, but MCT is flavorless. Whey adds flavos, collagen is flavorless

Some even put raw eggs in it, etc, plenty of choices and plenty of recipes available.

Re: Proper Body Weight Gain?

I've tried it. Didn't like the taste or the gastro problems it gave me. Some people don't have issues. Others do.

Just eat a real breakfast imho if you can. Easy to meal prep stuff too. Eggs/meat/veggies in a cupcake pan in the oven.

Re: Proper Body Weight Gain?

Yeah that's my goal. I stopped by Starbucks this morning and picked up on of their sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches which has ~500 calories. Ate that on top of the bagel and shake this morning. But, staring tomorrow I'm making my own breakfast sandwiches or like Shawn suggested little breakfast cupcakes. My wife actually used to make those every so often with bell pepper and bacon and whatnot. Slam a few of those and I'm good!

Re: Proper Body Weight Gain?

I tried raw egg in my morning butter coffee and it turned out just fine!

Gonna add it daily from now on and making my breakfast richer
