Any bicycle riders do crossfit?

My wife just bought a walmart bike which inspired me to buy a bike also for family rides. After lots and lots of researching I've finally settled on a hybrid mountain bike(Cannondale Quick Cx 3) that I'm buying next week. We have a sprint triathlon on base in October and I'm excited to join our squadron team and do the bike portion(12.4 miles).

Anyone else ride trails, tracks, etc..?

Re: Any bicycle riders do crossfit?

I want to get into cyclocross. I wouldn't have to buy a new bike for it and I would need little specialized training, as the shorter races and obstacles will make it pretty well suited to the kind of fitness CrossFit breeds.

Mountain biking would be fun too (less interested in road biking) but I'd have to buy a mountain bike for it and I don't want to spend a bunch of money right now.

Mostly road cycling over the last few years but I've got an itch to get the mtn bike back out onto the trails.

Re: Any bicycle riders do crossfit?

I used to ride both road and mountain bikes, and had quite a collection of bikes. Now I'm strictly mountain biking. I've done a few sprint tris, olympic distance and one ironman. The sprint tris are alot of fun and alot easier to incorporate training for them in an already busy schedule. If you haven't already, check out

and supplement those CFE wods with your current daily CF wods. I like to sign up for 1-2 mountain bike races a year just for fun and to stay motivated with my training, and I tell you I've experience awesome results by following the two wods and training a fraction of the time on the bike compared to what I used to.

Re: Any bicycle riders do crossfit?

I ride rode, mtn, and tt bikes. I've done ling distance cycling, 100+ miles in a day, and triathlons (many sprints, Olympics, 1/2 iron, and 1 full Ironman). I love to ride but if it isnt 25+ miles it's not worth the time, hence Crossfit 5 days a week.
Cycling is a great family activity and my 9 and 7 year olds are now getting into triathlon. There goes my $$$
