Re: V's Log

DWOD
13min AMRAP

5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
10 Bulgarian Split Squats (10R/10L)

Completed: 4 Rounds + 8 Push-ups

SWOD
Deadlift 1x5 @ 140lb

What kindof madman came up with split squats? I did them unweighted and I still couldn't knock out 10 consecutively. Had to do 5 per side, switch and repeat.

Re: V's Log

Two days later and I can still feel every muscle in my lower body from the split squats. Those are just pure evil.

DWOD
10min AMRAP

5 Push Press @ 75lb
10 Dips

Completed: 5 Rounds + 5 Push-press

SWOD
Squat 3x5 @ 92.5lb
Bench 3x5 @ 117.5lb

The dwod was a bit of a show b/c I thought I could use the blue band to get the 15, splitting them up into sets of five with a very brief rest in between. Ha...no. Got through the first set and realized that was never going to happen, so switched the reps from 15 to 10 and used the bigger green band. That seemed to work better, but sadly it took awhile for me to figure it out and I could have got more work done in the 10min.

Squat felt pretty good, bench was a little hard.

Ordered the Bella bar since it went on sale for Black Friday, excited to have a new bar!

Re: V's Log

SWOD
Squat 3x5 @ 95lb
Press 3x5 @ 70lb
Power Clean 3x5 @ 82.5lb

Decided to forego conditioning so that I'd be fresh for Sunday jiu jitsu. Far and away the most challenging class of the week, so leaving some in the tank.

It's becoming apparent that I'd be better off doing the strength portion before conditioning. A light warm-up, then barbell work then conditioning. I think my lifts will benefit, and that's what I'm most concerned about.

Re: V's Log

SWOD
Deadlift 1x5 @ 142.5lb
Chin-ups 3xMax @ 5, 5, 5

Again skipping conditioning. Feel like I need another adjustment to fit all of my fitness goals with BJJ.
