I'm giving this a go starting tomorrow.
Been slowing changing my diet the last few weeks and felt it was time to just go for it since I got rid of a few habits along the way. Any good ideas for breakfast to start or links for breakfast recipes. Eggs, Onions, Salsa, Apple, Olives, Almonds, is what i believe i have ready to go for tomorrow till lunch when i go grocery shopping. |

Greetings all!
Tomorrow is Day 1 of a 6 Week Weight Loss Challenge at my local affiliate - BGI South in West Palm Beach. We did another 6 week challenge a few months ago and I went strict Paleo for it. Then my husband and I went on vacation for a few weeks (not horrible food-wise but a lot of booze!). Then it was holiday time. So this challenge can't come at a better time for me! I've been crossfitting since March, 2009 and have seen some great results. I lost 35 pounds (found 7 of them over the holidays!). I want to lose another 25lbs and then see how I look/feel. I am already at just about my lightest adult weight so the next 5-25 will be quite a change for me. Well, here's to a happy, healthy, gluten free new year!! |

Tamara - i want to incorporate more fats into my diet too... and when you say you eat lots of fruit - what are we talking there? i have 2 apples a day, one at breaky and one at lunch... is this too much? Okay well I started today. Its still early but I'm willing and committed and think I can do this.
Breaky - 2 eggs, 1 egg white, onion, 1oz almonds + 3 fish oil caps This is okay for breakfast an paleo? Thanks |

Depends on your goals regarding nuts etc - I'm trying to lose fat so I've dropped the nuts (as it were) to see if that helps. |

Overall goal is to drop some weight/fat.
So instead of nuts what should the fat be in there. Like for lunch. Chicken, veggies + what fat source? |

I know the Zone is big on having P/C/F at every meal so I figured Paleo may be along the same ways as well.
So chicken and veggies for lunch and that's it. And if I want to add fat just use olive oil instead? Can I add almonds some days (1oz serving with the meal) to shake things up a bit or to calorie dense for weight loss. I do CF 3-4 days a week and swim (not hardcore laps though) with the wife (pregnancy) 2-3 nights a week. |

I think I have 90 more days left of my 100 day No Alky challenge. I'm not sure I'll make it that long, but I will get through this month! I am not really missing it, YET.
