Re: August: 'tabata everything' challange

week 3: day 1 'tabata challenge' incline situps - 13/11/8/7/6/6/6/7

last week i did unassisted tabata situps and struggled to get a good, quick rhythm. since i couldn't up my pace every round the stress seemed the same from the first set to last. so i decided to try the situps again but this time on the incline at the globo. assisted situps are such a different movement since it incorporates so much hip flexor. but none the else i felt like i got a better tabata effect.

Re: August: 'tabata everything' challange

In restrospect, my legs have felt pretty stiff since Thursday night, in fact I was sore even in my arms but I think it was nothing that would have stopped me from working out last night though I decided to take the night off.

Re: August: 'tabata everything' challange

I was going to do DU's tomorrow but not now after seeing tomorrow's WOD.

time to rethink my strategy.

I'm thinking #45 Thrusters. My quads and rear don't hurt enough.

Re: August: 'tabata everything' challange

Well.......not slacking off intentionally - - L/hip / lower back left side have been giving me fits for the last three - four days. Can't seem to "pop" the hip back into not hurting. Seeing the Dr. tomorrow......

I fully intend to get back into the challenge and catch up.

Re: August: 'tabata everything' challange

Tabata burpees a few hours after my venture into the Globogym part II and bike ride back to "home" gym. I was thinking earlier at the globo about OHS or BW BS for reps or "300" but ended up doing none of them.

8-8-7's the rest. The last round I was half-way through 8 but time went past 20s.

My L5 boy at the gym can hit 10 in 20s but bare in mind he's also 4'5 or so, 55lbs so far less to move and less ROM.

I'm thinking burpees in tabata take too long to cycle. Perhaps 30-30 for 8m would be crushing and better. Perhaps too much rest. 45-15 would be the pits.

week 3: day 2 'tabata challenge' burpees - 5/5/4/4/4/3/4/4

ron & blair, nice job on the burpees! 8-6 reps a round is a good pace. even in my first round i was only able to get off 5.

stephen, sorry to hear about the hip. i hope everything checks out well for you. maybe you could do tabata wrist curls or calve raises? just kidding! get better buddy.
