A cup of lettuce?

How does one measure a cup of lettuce? Isn't a cup a liquid measure?

(Sorry if this is a ridiculous question - I am just trying to learn about cooking, healthy eating, and nutrition. My bet is that my kitchen is the most unused one of any on this board prior to July of this year).

Re: A cup of lettuce?

And if you're going to use it at all, use cos.
Or investigate the use of other greens ( english spinach, collard, kale, new zealand spinach, dandelion, many others) wilted quickly in hot olive oil, then tossed with salt and cracked black pepper and a splash of balsamic vinegar.

The other greens will contain a higher nutritional load than most any lettuce you can get, and the quick heating and mixing with the oil and good quality vinegar releases a lot of this content.

Tastier too.

I don't even measure lettuce. You have to eat SO much of it to actually count as anything that it's really not even worth it.
