Crossfiter or Bodybuilder?

Ok I read in the FAQ where Coach talks about will/ can I get big with crossfit WOD's but I can't see his theory: (In order from most mass to least)
1. Bodybuilding on steroids
2. CrossFitting on steroids
3. CrossFitting without steroids
4. Bodybuilding without steroids

If steroids are an enhancer and Crossfitting will get you bigger naturally than bodybuilding, then why would crossfitting with steroids not get you bigger than bodybuilding with steroids? Its sounds to me like a contradiction.

Re: Crossfiter or Bodybuilder?

I'd like to see the rational behind that too.

Re: Crossfiter or Bodybuilder?

I'll go out on a limb here and say that most "bodybuilding routines" are designed to take advantage of steroids, due to their rampant use in that culture. Crossfit does not assume it's athletes will be using enhancement drugs, and therefore does not (over)program in order to utilize the "benefits" of them. The corollary is that most "bodybuilding routines" performed without drugs will result in overtraining and disappointing results.

Either way, what's the real question?

Re: Crossfiter or Bodybuilder?

It is because of the nature of a bodybuilder's workout. Ton's of isolation work and lengthy training sessions. And the addition of steroids lets you recover much faster to jump into another lengthy training session.

Steroids can maximize the response obtained from bodybuilding movements, while the compound functional movements of CrossFit will produce a better response on the CNS and endocrine system under natural conditions.

Re: Crossfiter or Bodybuilder?

Its because CrossFit isn't worried about hypertrophy while bodybuilding is. I really haven't ever gathered why people desire so much to be "big".

Yes but, if crossfit without steroids, is better at building muscle, than bb without steroids, why is bb with steroids, better than cf with steroids?

I already explained that.

No you didn't, at least not very well. The logic is faulty. If CF is better than BB for hypertrophy, than it stands that CF+AAS is better than BB+ steroids.

Says it right here, crossfit is NOT worried about hypertrophy, bodybuilding is, thats why steroids grants better gains than crossfit.
