how high to hang rings?

Realistically how much space would I need to hang rings? - I only have a garage with about 3 foot above my head (5ft11inches) so i could realistically only do dips from them but thats what I want... would that be enough?

Re: how high to hang rings?

I would probably reach as high as I could and have the rings hang about 6 inches down from there. You should be able to do ring dips at least and maybe some muscle ups if your lucky. Good luck.

Re: how high to hang rings?

Hi Neil,

Do you have a loft hatch? I hang my rings from a bit of 2X4 that sits across my opn loft hatch. I can then do muscle ups and dips on my landing, my head goes up slightly into the loft.

Re: how high to hang rings?

No bother fella. For my loft hatch set up, the block of wood sits between other bits of wood so there is no movement when I'm hoying myself about. Plus, I have a narrow landing, so after cracking my elbows on the walls a couple of times, my form has got much better with muscle ups!

I train at Crossfit North East with Leon and Kempie once a week, globo the rest. Great crack and a guaranteed beasting. Are you at Crossfit newcastle? There's a few of us geordie crossfitters about now.
