Res Ipsa "Joe"quitor-a Law Student's Log

Hey all!

After a month of preparing for finals, I am in quite a state. My workouts decreased in frequency to the point where for the last few weeks I haven't been lifting at ALL. Also, my diet sucks (I found out I'm a stress eater! Hooray). I weighed myself today, and I clocked in at a disgusting 200 lbs. So I'm getting back on track with workouts and diet for the summer! Here are my goals:

1. Get and stay on zone...I lost a LOT of weight pretty quickly before, and I think that it's my best shot.
2. Per #1-reduce bf % to under 10, but pack on muscle...I hate to admit it, but I have some aesthetic changes I would like to make, with larger arms/shoulders being one of them
3. Get more sleep!
4. WOD related goals:
-Sub 5 min. Fran (best time is 6:15)
-Elizabeth-do as Rx'ed in under 10 mins
-Complete Murph as Rx'ed
-10k in one hour
-sub 1:40 500m row
-Sub 7 minute mile
-25 kipping pullups in a row
-10 dead hang pullups in a row
-Consecutive muscle ups
-A dead hang muscle up
-Bodyweight cleans-10 in a row

All readers are encouraged to heckle, harass, cajole, and belittle if I go too long without adding a workout, or if I post a pic where I've gotten fatter. I need help to keep me motivated!

Today:
Mini-Murph...1 mile run, 50 pullups, 100 pushups, 150 squats, 1/2 mile run. Awful, awful effort, but it's my first day back. Didn't even keep time, just did it to do it. I forgot just how BAD these workouts can hurt, and how good you feel when they are done. Good motivation.

Hi Joe,
Congrats on getting back into the swing of things! I know it's hard when you get off track...and I can only imagine trying to juggle law school at the same time...you get props for that alone!

So, a few things...

1) It's awesome that you have such specific goals. Actually, I think the goals that you listed are pretty impressive, but they also seem very doable.

2) Umm...I don't think you understand what being "fat" entails...you can't qualify yourself as fat if you can still see your six-pack!

3) Great job on your Fran time! You'll be sub-five before you know it!!

Keep up the good work, I'm routing for you!

Chrissy

Re: Res Ipsa "Joe"quitor-a Law Student's Log

Thank you Paige! I'm definitely feeling a lot more gravity-sensitive lately...my diet went to crap during finals. My girlfriend took my body comp (She's got her doctorate in physical therapy and knows more about that stuff than I do) and it's up to 18%!!!!! Unacceptable.

As for Fran, after seeing the 2:05 video, my ultimate goal is to get a sub-2 fran. I will certainly die in the process, but it will be a hero's death.

Anyway, today was a good day. Made better by the fact that my former marine, 5 black belt holding uncle got his *** kicked by a canadian goose today. Life is good.
