Matt's CF Experiment

Today's WOD for me was 5 rounds for time of:
1. 10 Overhead Squats (45 lbs)
2. 15 Pull-ups
3. 20 Thrusters (45 lbs)
Time: 20::21

I suck at kipping pull-ups. If I could get the technique down better I would imagine that my time for this would improve.

Re: Matt's CF Experiment

Here are some stats to help clear things up:

Male/33 yrs old/5'10"/185 lbs

I haven't done a 1RM of the CFT yet. I'll post those at a later date.

Interval Fun Runs

3/31/08

2 rounds for time of:
a. Run 400m
b. 25 Squats
c. Run 800m
d. 25 Push-ups
e. Run 1200m
f. 25 Sit-ups
g. Run 1600m
h. 25 Pull-ups
Time: 55::10

I know that's a lot more running then most CF'ers do. I'm also training for some triathlons (TriFitter??) so I needed to do an interval run. I started out WAY too fast (i.e. sub 7 min pace at first fading to about a 9 min pace at the end). Either way I was able to mix in both my run and some CF movements.

CF Swims

4/1/2008:

Only managed to get in a quick swim (1100m) that day. At least the pool has a pull-up bar (Navy base) so I could work in some form work afterwards.

Today I plan on going back to the pool and doing another workout. I might try some interval laps with some push-ups/pull-ups/sit-ups/etc.

More swimming

Yesterday was 1500m of swimming total. Pull-ups thrown in there as needed. Not a lot, but still good. Not sure what is on for today. I'm thinking something with burpees though....

"Babs?"

4/7/2008

A scaled down version of "Barbara" ("Babs" perhaps?):

5 rounds for time of:
1. 10 pull-ups
2. 20 push-ups
3. 30 sit-ups
4. 40 squats
Time: 22::15

It was fun to do this at the Navy gym and watch all the M&F type guys "working" out. One day the CF movement will take over. One person at a time, right?

Took Angie for a run

"Running with Angie:"

AMRAP in 20 mins of:

1. Run 400m
2. 5 pull-ups
3. 10 push-ups
4. 15 squats

I got through 5 rounds + 400m run + 5 pull-ups in the 20 mins. I finished out the push-ups and squats in 30 more seconds for a 6 round effort in 20::30. Now I got a baseline for this WOD.

Re: Took Angie for a run

Duh!

Ok, I'm an idiot. I'm usually the first to admit that fact. That is obviously me taking "Cindy" for a run...or vice versa if you will. She did a number on me so that's why I screwed it up.

Swim Intervals

4/10/08

4x100m, 2x200m, 400m, 2x200m intervals in the pool at a hard pace for all. My form fell off towards the end but it was a killer upper body workout.

"Josh"

Tackled "Josh" today for the first time. I used 65 lbs for the OHS instead of the RX'd 95. The next time I'll do Josh proud by doing it as prescribed.

21 OHS
42 Pull-ups
15 OHS
30 Pull-ups
9 OHS
18 Pull-ups
Time: 14::48

Rest in peace Brother Rat: Capt. Jamie Edge, USMC, VMI '96 was killed this day in 2005 leading his company of Marines from where he lead best...the front.
