Southern NH/Northern MA

Anyone up here doing a lot of cross fight type training?

I believe there is a place in Boston MA. I train Jiu Jitsu and MMA 5 days a week or so, so just do not have the time to join a crossfit facility.
But would like to do some weekend training if possible etc.

I am an affiliate in The Berkshires (Western MA) If that helps you at all.

Re: Southern NH/Northern MA

I train Muay Thai three nights a week - they do BJJ and kempo at my studio too. I train CrossFit style at a few different gyms in Manchester and Tilton, NH. There is a CrossFit NH affiliate, but I think it's been dead for a while now.

Not super helpful, but if you want to talk more send me a message. I've found a few gyms that are cool with letting me bring in all my own stuff (kettlebells, parallettes, rings, etc.).

Re: Southern NH/Northern MA

I know this is a bit late in the discussion, but does anyone know if Crossfit NH is officially dead? I just moved to Concord from Boston and am desperately looking for somewhere to work WODs. Any suggestions? Should I just use the local Big Box and try to finagle the WODs with their equipment? Thanks.

Re: Southern NH/Northern MA

I wish I knew. I thought one of the rules of affiliation was that the web site must be kept updated... and I assume the affiliate needs to be open and running classes/training sessions somewhere. I did one workout with them at their old facility, and that was over a year ago.

I train at Gold's in Manchester, and they're good about letting me bring in my own equipment. Don't bother to try the Gold's in Concord - it barely qualifies as a gym. And the Planet Fitness in Concord won't tolerate any hints of a CF-style workout.

Not much help, but you can at least rule out a training option or two.

Re: Southern NH/Northern MA

Funny that you mention the Planet Fitness in Concord. That's where I was thinking of trying the workouts. What do they do exactly? You mean they won't allow outside equipment, or they'll lose their minds if I do 100 pull ups?
Thanks for the info, BTW.

Re: Southern NH/Northern MA

Hi Everyone;
I live in Nashua and started doing Crossfit almost one year ago. I started in my garage and that worked well until about November( tooooo cold ) . I've gone to the Merrimack Y and haven't had any problems . It gets a little crowded at times but I've brought in my Nylabone rings and kettlebells and nobody says anything . It's a good weight room and there is other equipment laying around in other rooms. I'll be going back to the garage , hopefully , shortly.
Bill
P.S. I'd like to know what's going on with Crossfit NH-I've gotten a few e-mails but it's been quiet lately. I never met with them but it was on my list of things to do.

Re: Southern NH/Northern MA

Bill, if you open a Crossfit affiliate in your garage, I'll join in .09 seconds.

Re: Southern NH/Northern MA

Hey gang,
Just thought I'd chime in.
I'm in Northern MA (North Andover) and I mostly workout out of my house.

I have a decent amount of gear and would be happy to host a workout day or two especially after the weather gets better.

Feel free to shoot me a message if you're interested

Joe
