i'm not sure sean sherk should be allowed to fight in the ufc anymore. i'd rather watch only humans fight and not unstoppable machines. my god. hermes did get a few good knees to the face in though.

what would happen if bj stayed at 155 and fought sherk?

all in all that was a fairly entertaining show i thought. not quite as good as the lidell/jackson undercard, but i didn't have too many complaints. well, other than finding out the submission of the night came in a fight they never showed, ha.

I was kind of bummed that Sherk didn't finish it. He had a lot of opportunities... Also, after the fight he said that he used a lot of wrestling and jiu jitsu.. well, I agree with the wrestling part, but I didn't see any jiu jitsu...

It was cool to see KenFlo fight... he's such a great technical fighter.

I was bummed they didn't air the Bonnar fight.

Eh....he spent 25 mins passing the guard and getting into better postitions than a BJJ Blackbelt....he was transitioning with ease. BJJ is more than just subs.

I think Hermes let him pass on purpose so he could keep getting back up.

Letting someone pass is one thing, but they were stood up maybe once, if at all in 25 mins so i'm not really buying that one from Hermes to be honest.

you don't continue with a gameplan for 25 mins that is not working. Looking back over the fight i can see plenty of resistance from Hermes on a lot of the passing.

He was just outclassed in that aspect of the game. It happens. Especially when your fighting a guy with Sherks hips.

Sherk even took mount. I doubt Hermes would let Sherk get into side control or mount if he could stop him.

sherks bjj looked great, however the point of improving postion is to look for subs or a way to finish, this was not a grappling match and I believe a great champion should look to finish fights...

I don't think Franca was allowing Sherk to pass the guard, but I do believe once Sherk was passed Hermes allowed him to mount.

The mount is a much easier position the reverse than the cross-side, and Franca was able to do so several time during the match.

All that said Franca was clearly out-grappled during the match. Sherk was very impressive.
