I have a pair of Tyler's previous rings and like them a lot. However, when doing dips the buckles tend to bruise my wife's upper arms. I was thinking about searching for another pair that have the buckles situated higher, farther from the rings. Are the buckles on the Elite rings the same distance from the rings as the previous edition? Also, does anyone know the ring-to-buckle distance on the new Gill rings? Thanks, Geoff

For both the Elite rings and the Gill rings the buckles are able to be placed as far from the rings as you have space overhead.

Geoff,
On the Elite Rings, the buckles are no longer sewn onto the ring. You can slide the strap through a slot in the ring, so you can have the buckle close for easy adjustment and then slide it out of the way for comfort.

I just ordered a pair of the Elite rings over the weekend! And of course the WOD today is ring dips! I cant wait to rock these in my garage on my new pullup bar!

Thanks for the help Ahmik! Next up is a bar and bumpers from you!

Nick

Well, shoulder is healed pretty much and I've gotten to enjoy some ring pushups and a few dips and pull ups. Gonna be a while before I'm strong enough for anything else, but I re-iterate my previous zeal -- the rings are rockin'! The instability they add to simple exercises is amazing. Adds a whole new dimension to my workouts.

Right now I tend to use them in a "grease the groove" fashion -- every time the kid goes out to bounce, I drop and do some ring push ups (or pull ups, dips, whatever) before I fire it up... then he gets his turn. :-)

Love em! Might even buy another pair for travel or so we can use them together. (Sadly, I exceed the weight capacity of our bouncy castle...)
