This looks to be the basic slow cook recipe, mine called for ginger ale instead of water: http://southernfood.about.com/od/pul...cpweekly33.htm Here is a basic JD BBQ recipe, I sub tomato sauce and puree for the ketchup, and used brown sugar instead of molass''s. http://southernfood.about.com/od/bbq.../r/blbb227.htm I'm telling ya, it's cheap, fast and healthy and it freezes well. My only upgrade was to grass fed pork instead of grain fed, but I really doubt you can taste the difference, though your body would appreciate the Grass fed. Both links w/f/s |

Looks absolutely delicious man. My mom got me a slow cooker when I moved off to college like 2 years ago, and it's still in the box haha. The food is infitely better, so once I return from India this summer I will be setting that sucker up for some grass fed pig.

Is there any alternatives if you don't have a slow cooker?

Here is a recipe for pulled pork in the oven. It is very good. (I do not make sandwiches out of it.)
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/reci...164710,00.html (WFS) I'll have to try it in the slow cooker. |

Re: Pulled Pork-it's whats for Breakfast/Lunch and Dinner
Jay, I thought you got a proper smoker, and here you are cooking pulled pork without the most important spice?
![]() (actually, even when I had mine, I would often cook it overnight in the oven and then finish it for a few hours in the smoker just to get the flavor; keeping the fire going long enough to do it all in the smoker was pretty tedious). I do think it's nicer when the ends of the fibers have a bit of that black, smoky, crunchy taste, but it's darned good stuff no matter how you cook it! |

Looks awesome Jay. I did something similar with a pork butt a week or so ago. Added a can of El Pato, onions, cumin, cinnamon, paprika, and garlic and turned it into carnitas.

Tell me, you work for Jack Daniels!!!!!!!!!! Many years ago, we did a Derby party, rented a motor home, first stop, the Wild Turkey Distiller, had a great visit, this was before the fire. BTW, never did see a horse as we were in the infield, but we did polish off about 60 Mint Juleps between us. |
