Deer Antler Spray - Whats the deal?

Allegedly used for thousands of years in China for its incredible effects on the human body. The supplement is usually given credit for anti-aging, HGH imitating, and strength building characteristics. I havn't come across any articles outlining the effects of DVAS worth describing as 100% credible.

If this stuff does half of what it's supposed to do I think it should be given a serious look. Seems to be in the category of completely legal supplements available in stores. With that in mind I dont want to take anything that more often than not would land a competitor on a list of people using PEDs.

Anybody know anything worth knowing about Deer Velvet Antler Spray?

You could try Google...

The active ingredient is IGF-1, which is banned by the Olympic anti-doping protocol and any organization that follows it.

I have taken the pill form for about a year now, they do help with recovery but it can be dicey because the source matters a lot.

Re: Deer Antler Spray - Whats the deal?

It is snake oil, don't waste your money. If you look up the NOW foods brand of the spray, it contains 27.5 nanograms of igf-1. a nanogram is one BILLIONTH of a gram. Plus IGF-1 is not stable in liquid form for more than 24 hours...

Just on the basis of ethical and moral stand point. Avoid buying this product.

And to think I've been using all my deer antlers as dog chews for all these years....

At least this explains those awkward moments where I catch my dogs doing deadlifts.

not a paleo fan i guess? i take my fair share of deer every year, they're delicious.

i'm not for any abuse of the animal or killing it simply for antler spray or whatever though, but if it's a by-product than it's perfectly moral.

I would be curious to learn more of this. I wonder which brand he uses. I would be willing to try it and report back...

Re: Deer Antler Spray - Whats the deal?

Apparently Health Canada just approved the new brand: CERVIFOR (Velvet Antler - yes from DEER), so I am curious to see its direction, esp. when they (HC) gave the go ahead!?
