I am new to crossfit and I am working on my home gym. I built a 24" plyo box for jumping. I started hearing about the GHD. I nailed a short 2x4 (about 18" to be sure to hit 16" on-center) to my wall. I put it at about 24". This would be my heel / toe hook. I moved it out from the wall by making 3/4" spacers out of scrape plywood for more. grab area. I now slide the plyo box about hip distance from the wall for back raises or past 180 deg. sit ups. The distance for the two is a little different, so when I found the right spot for each, I marked the floor with a marker and I don't have to fiddle with it.

If you look down at the bottom of this page you'll see a button marked "upload attachment." click it and find your photo.

Sorry, that "Thanks" was supposed to have the photo included. It showed the "thanks" followed by the jpeg tag, when I hit the post button, but it didn't work.
Anyway, just think of the device as an overbuilt towel bar made from a 2x4. It is moved out from the wall by 3/4" using two small spacers of plywood. When I move the 24" plyo box up to the wall, the lower edge of the 2x4 is about 6" higher than the top of the box. this puts your heels about level when you slide the box out and do back raises.
