Men's Suits for the Short Stubby Man

I may be in the market soon for a suit and I'm running into the same issue that I do when it comes to buying jeans or any other lower extremity garment for that matter. I'm about 5'9" and 195 lbs. I have rather large legs and rear end and typically buy pants that are way too big in the waste, but fit in the legs and have them tailored. That's what I've done for my military uniforms in the past.

However, now I need a regular suit and pants and I'm looking to find a "made to measure" suit that will not cost a small fortune. My shoulders are rather wide and with the "slim/skinny" trend, I am assuming I will have a difficult time finding a jacket that looks good. I'm hoping some like-built individuals can provide some suggestions.

I am similar to your build and have the same problem. Its been awhile since I bought a suit, but the last time I did I bought the jacket and pants separately. Many men's clothing stores have that option. I still needed to have them tailored to look good.

Welcome to the world where skinny jeans fear what would happen to them if we flexed of passed gas while wearing a pair (provided enough grease was used to get us in them)

I buy pants and jacket seperate and have them altered.
