Help with Linking Toes to Bar

Hi! Here is a video of me attempting some toes to bar. They are really inefficient and I can't figure out how to link consecutive ones (how to cut out that middle swing and just go straight from one into the next). Tips very much appreciated, and please do be as specific as possible; what muscles should I be activating? Is there a rhythm I should be thinking of? What am I doing wrong here exactly?

Thanks so much, Crossfit world!

Re: Help with Linking Toes to Bar

Once your toes touch the bar, try bringing them straight down instead of swinging them back behind you. This will eliminate some of the 'middle swing' that you mentioned.

I see what your talking about and think that a reduction of backward swing with the legs will help you prep for the next toe-touch. It looks like that extra middle-swing is putting your body back when you want it to be forward.

*Also, when you bring your legs down from touching the bar, pull yourself forward and drive your legs down (these motions will counter each other bringing you to a neutral hold). Then, push back from the bar slightly and bring the toes back up to the bar, then repeat.

I hope this helps, it's a bit prolific and I apologize. I struggled with t2b's as well, keep working on them. They'll come.

Looks to me like you are pulling your legs up, which is slow, you should be kicking your legs up.

Personally after the toes contact the bar, I let gravity do its work and allow my legs to fall down.

Re: Help with Linking Toes to Bar

This may sound unusual, but fight through the second one even if your toes don't make it up fully to the bar. I had tried over and over....closing the shoulder hard and drilling my legs up. I got the advice to fight through the second one and bamm, I can string 10 at a time. It's the momentum and steadiness.

Okay, these are helpful tips. I will give them a try and let you all know. I hate how Spealer makes everything look like a walk in the park!
