Re: Fedor vs. Rogers on CBS

yah! all the fights were awesome on that card last night! i love watching fedor explode. he has so much power. i mean when he decided to he would just toss rogers like a rag doll. you could see on rogers face too when he would get hit that he didnt really expect fedor to pack such a wallop.

Great card, as good as it looked on paper, but we already knew that with such match-ups! Strikeforce haters/UFC lovers better recognize!

Fedor is simply amazing...

Overall a crucial night for MMA as it was portrayed extremelly well on CBS...

Re: Fedor vs. Rogers on CBS

I'm not a Strikeforce hater first off, I actually enjoy a lot of their fights. The Miller/Sheilds fight was a very technical fight. Now the Fedor fight to me was ok, I'm not a fedor fan and never will be, too all over the place. I enjoy more technical fighters and strikers like Alistar Overeem,Gegard Mousasi and (from the UFC) Junior Dos Santos (trains with Anderson Silva to give you an idea). But, I willl say Fedor is one strong and explosive guy.

It's very debatable about Arlovski, and wether or not he actually did any damage to Fedor. I have seen that fight in slow motion twice. Arlovski didn't land many punches at all.

X 3. All of the televised matches were relatively even, the supposed squash match between Mousasi and Sokoudjou was even competitive. The Silva-Werdum was a great example of what MMA is about. The Shields-Miller was a chess match; some of the fans didn't appreciate it but I thought it was great. Fedor is Fedor, as someone previously mentioned, 99% of heavyweights would have been finished with Rogers raining fists down on them. Fedor didn't even look worried, he just escaped and then capped it off with a brilliant casting punch. Rogers was impressive, I'm glad he managed to hang with Fedor for a round. All in All, kudos to Strikeforce.

X2 for that one. It was their first effort, so I cut them some slack. Fedor also needs to either get a new translator or learn a little english, she asked the interviewer several times to repeat his questions.

Next fights for the winners (I hope)
Werdum vs. Rogers
Mousasi vs. Dan Henderson (Hopefully signs with Strikeforce)
Shields vs. Cung Le (after he gets through his upcoming one)
Fedor vs. Alistair Overeem ( when he decides to fight stateside)

Re: Fedor vs. Rogers on CBS

I thought it was a good showing by Rogers. Man, I thought it was nearly over in the 1st round when Rogers was GnP'ing Fedor. But Fedor once again proved that he is one of the best. You can tell Rogers was really disappointed after the fight. He knew he was close...

Really?
I didn't think it was that bad - Rogers got in 4 or 5 shots, but Fedor is so dangerous from the ground, that when he was on his back and taking those hits, I was thinking to myself... he's just setting up a submission.

Have you guys ever seen a dude look more relaxed than Fedor during a fight? Whether he's on top, bottom, striking or being hit, that guy never looks worried about anything.

Re: Fedor vs. Rogers on CBS

Supposedly it was a pre-exisiting cut on Fedor's nose which is why it opened up from a jab (watch in slow-mo without audio). Take away the blood and round 1 is a jab and 4 G'n'P punches from Rogers, with Fedor doing damage AND submission attempts, Fedor won the round (I believe judges were 10-9 10-9 9-10 for Fedor). I don't think he was in much trouble, just the blood made it seem really bad. He took much worse g'n'p from Hong Man Choi where his face was actually bruised up after.

Great card overall, I hope it has UFC fuming. Supposedly 5 million people watched it.

Re: Fedor vs. Rogers on CBS

Conversations like this make me sad that Brock the 80s Cyborg looking roid-monkey is considered to be the top heavyweight by so many. I really, really, really want to see Fedor destroy him, preferably in the first round. Can we just start a petition or something?
