Newbie Diet Question

Group,

I dont want to waste everyone's time but I am hoping that you folks have a few GOOD diet links for the Paleo diet that I can do some reading on prior to starting the diet.

I REALLY need to get my life in check health wise and want to know exactly what I'm doing before starting so I dont make a ton of mistakes.

I am wanting to Crossfit but am going to probably go see a Dr. first due to my current weight and past injuries that have hounded me for the last 10 years.

I am interested in other diets as well, i noticed some folks talk about eating bacon and cooking eggs in bacon grease........what diet is that? I cant find anything in any Paleo diet sites about bacon and grease.

Thanks all.

To quote a great and rather cynical man

"any diet that doesn't include bacon is inherently flawed"

Re: Newbie Diet Question

The Fit 4 You 5 is a great starting point - very zone/paleo like but easy to understand.

Also check out this for a good collection of nutritional resources

Robb is a great nutrition guru and I know for a fact he loves his bacon and bacon grease on other things.

Yeah, I did google and search. What I was trying to find was GOOD sites
as all I found in 2 days worth of looking around were not that great. I was
looking for QUALITY sites so I can try to get started sooner and on a path to getting healthier.

Thanks for your help though.

To be honest, you should probably start with Cordain's book (WFS). I haven't read it yet, but will once I move back to the States.

Eggs and bacon are arguably Paleo foods (refer to Jamie's post).

How can you determine a quality Paleo site? You don't even know what your looking for.

Did you look at The Paleo Diet
Marks Daily Apple
Robb Wolf

That's about as quality as it gets.
