7/3-7/5

7-3

On the beach:
Ten 10-second sprints with 20 seconds rest in between

7-5

On the beach with a ~70# sandbag, rounds of 21, 15, 9 of:

Good workout that won't leave me drained for the rest of the day. Did hurt at the time, however!

7-6 thru 7-7

7-7

Barefoot beach run of 6 miles

First half there had to have been 15 MPH winds blowing right at me--still I hit my marks timewise better than last year (after lots of beach running). Though I did well, it was extremely draining and set me up for failire in the second half.

Second half was even more brutal (despite favorable winds). In addition to being pretty drained from battling the wind, the sand was soft as hell and I developed big, painful blisters on each of my big toes. This slowed me down substantially (had to stop a few times)

My time was something like 47:00 for a 8:27 min/mile average.

I expect MUCH better numbers under better conditions. That's the beauty of running in the outdoors though--you must adpat to what mother nature throws at you.

7-7

Rest!

7-8 Heavy DL/burpee WOD

I took the CF Games DL workout and made it heavier.

5 rounds of

DL 305# for 3 reps
Burpees with 15# in backpack, 7 reps

Didn't time it.

7-17 heavy thruster WO

3 rounds of:
Five 165# thrusters
10 ring push-ups (feet and rings elevated)
10 burpies

This is a good one. Strength and metcon were well balanced. Exactly what I want right now: move heavy weight without compromising conditioning.

vacation!

been on vacation, playing around. Lots of swimming and body surfing. did a modified version of the .25 mile of lunges on saturday, in which I used a 50# sandbag and did 20 push-ups at .05 mile intervals. Still hurting from that one.

i'm not really gonna update my log anymore this week. too much work!
