Re: Broke my deadlift record!!!!

Joe. nice deadlift! I would like to see your arms straighter at the start of the lift and the lower back a little more rounded myself, as the issue of form was brought up! Now you need to gun for double bodyweight. As a fellow tall guy I know that deadlift is our lift. I bet you can hit 400 with some focus bud!

Re: Broke my deadlift record!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement...I've elected to back off of heavy DL's for a while, in favor of building more af a base through SS. I'm sure if I kept going, I could hit 400 in a few months, but it would be sloppy and I'd likely get hurt.

You might just surprise yourself by how quickly you can pull more weight and NOT hurt yourself, Joe.
In my first max effort DL attempt (appx July of last year) I think I hit 275. Without any extra training (WODs only, that is), I got that up to 385 the next time I did a CFT. I did a bit of extra DL and Squat training at the end of December and beginning of January because my affiliate was competing against HyperFit in a CFT event mid-January, and I got my DL up to 435 for that CFT.

PS: I am 37 years old, 5'7" and 162 - so I know it can be done by big young guys like you!

Re: Broke my deadlift record!!!!

The pointing at the bar cracks me up... I wish I had been there when you did this Joe.

Haha, it's on. 6' and 190 huh? My 5'7 and 145lb are going to try to clear up a day on an upcoming weekend.
