Macro % on the Zone

Recently I've started eating more Zone-like (at least I'm trying to). I'm addicted to tracking my cals via Fitday instead of actually counting blocks, so I was wondering what the ideal Macro % typically look with the zone.

Here is today's breakdown (usually all days are similar) and obviously fiber could be higher, I'm still working things out.

Total: 2591

Fat: 149 1344 51%
Sat: 45 404 15%
Poly: 22 194 7%
Mono: 59 529 20%

Carbs: 99 366 14%
Fiber: 8 0 0%

Protein: 225 901 35%

(also I did search...% is too short to show up and there was nothing for percent, percents, or percentage that showed up)

Re: Macro % on the Zone

Well, zone is supposed to be 40-30-30 even though the "Athlete's Zone" can skew those numbers quite a bit.

Carbs 40%, protein and fat at 30% each. Each carb block counts as 9 grams, each protein block counts as 7 grams, each whole fat block counts as 3 grams. The thing with fat though is that it's assumed that each block of protein has about 1.5 grams of fat "hidden" in it, so you'd only add 1/2 block of fat, since the protein contains the other 1/2 block.

Start with Zone for a couple weeks, then see where body comp is headed, performance etc. Adjust accordingly.

Re: Macro % on the Zone

Mike check out my thread. Zone Tuned for Lean Mass.

http://www.board.crossfit.com/showth...ight=lean+mass

I documented the entire caloric breakdown for the meal plans that I used for 7 days.. including all the meals and final ratios at the end of the day.

I did VERY well on this.

Re: Macro % on the Zone

My zone is usually in the ish range. I don't think fitday has the same measurements as the containers have. Like today my fitday is and I am a 5-blocker.

1675CALS, 46FAT(29%), 155CARB(33%), 139PRO(38%).

grams cals %total
Total: 1675
Fat: 46 418 29%
Sat: 9 79 5%
Poly: 9 84 6%
Mono: 14 122 8%
Carbs: 155 476 33%
Fiber: 37 0 0%
Protein: 139 556 38%
Alcohol: 0 0 0%

But it seems like most of my servings are in the 5 block radius bit it will be like 5.3blocks and things like that. I weigh and measure to but I don't understand it either. Like I'm no where near the zone with these figures.
