From the now dead thread "Pullup Challenge Anyone?"

Posted on Saturday, January 14, 2006 - 10:41 pm:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm still working on the 50 for Eugene's B'day last November, (as the elbow tendonitis allows). I hope to have 46 by April 29 and 50 sometime this year.

So tomorrow's my birthday, I will shoot for 50, hoping for at least 46 (41 is my PR). Wish me luck.

Well this is the first challenge I have reached
by the deadline I set, 46 today 4/29/06,
born 4/29/60.

46 kipping pullups. I lost my rhythm on 45 and tried to just deadhang the 46th; not a chance, so I kipped one last time and victoria.

Right now 50 will be fairly easy I believe.

And now for the post workout birthday nutrition:
cold Hefeweizans.

btw, you can do kipping
pullups with a pulled groin
and hip flexor...

but you will pay for it.

Congrats. As a 46 year old myself, I have to say, impressive.

My kippings improving so I'm eyeing this one for 47. Maybe I'll test today for 30 while I'm inspired.

Nice work.

Thank you Bill,

I find that hitting goals like these can be as
much a mental feat as a physical one. I will
leave it to each individual to determine
what 'mental' means.

Good luck in your quest.

O.K. Did 31. PR for any kind of pullup. Did 25 dead hangs at the TSC, but now my kipping has improved to where it's better then the dead hang. 40 by 9/1 should be doable.
