Concept2 SkiErg - do you use it/have access to one/did it give anything?

Anyone used or have access to the Concept2 SkiErg http://www.concept2.com/skierg ?

If yes do you use it or found it of any use?

If you do use it do you train on technique to become effective as nordic skiing is not something that allot of people have even heard of.

Or is this just another machine sitting in the corner used to hand towels on

I know i could have put this in the equipment section but i would like to hear a little more about the use from others.

We have several of them at the gym I go to. We use them just like you would use a rower in a workout, sometimes we are given the choice as to which piece of cardio you are doing in your workout. If I want to hurt/a challenging workout I pick the ski over the rower.

I would probably buy a rower first, but with that said the skier is a fun piece of equipment too. We do a "triathlon sprint" 500m ski, 50 cal air dyne, and 500m row (Goal is sub 5 min) and it is nasty.

There's also a paddling attachment/conversion for the C2.

Seen a couple here in Hawaii as paddling is pretty big. Never tried it out though.
