Modifying lifts for Medical issues?
I've been doing crossfit for around 4 months now and I'm absolutely loving it, like nothing I've ever done before. However I'm struggling to bring numbers up in ANYTHING but my deadlift. All my Olympic lifts have seen 0 improvement and I know exactly why.
I have the following issues which I believe is the cause of my struggle on the Olympic lifts:
Shortened Achilles Tendon (Can maybe make just 10 degree shin angle. No I cannot "Stretch" them out. I have been medically diagnosed with this and told the tendon is as long as it will ever be and stretching will not add more flexibility)
Hyperplastic heels (Underdeveloped heels due to walking on my toe till I was 12)
Unstable Hip and Underdeveloped Lower Back (Both link back to my leg/calve issues.)
With all these it means I lack the flexibility to get under the bar in a deep enough position and means all I can do is power cleans and power snatches. I have already modified my snatches the Split Snatches which I have begun to see results with, but I'm scared my Clean, Clean and Jerk, and Squat are doomed to never improve.
Anything you guys can think of in terms of modification of the lifts to allow me to get under the bar without replying on being in a full squat position would be awesome. Cheers!
