Reverse Hyper or GHD?

I am about to purchase the odds-and-ends to complete my garage gym (jump boxes, extra bar, etc) and I don't know enough about GHD and RH's as they pertain to CF to decide which one to get.

Any opinions on the subject welcome (be it get both, get neither, or get X).

Re: Reverse Hyper or GHD?

Reverse Hyper = conditioning/rehabilitation tool.

GHDs are used in WODs, but not really frequently.

If you really want a reverse hyper, you're probably going to have to pony up and pay for it.

As for a GHD, I've seen quite a few homemade jobbies that seem to do the job fine. If you're making it for your garage gym and don't have to deal with making something adjustable, you can figure something out with some kind of butt-pad on a stool and somewhere to tuck your legs. There's been some homemade ones posted here that looked totally functional and safe.

Re: Reverse Hyper or GHD?

Skip the reverse hyper unless you REALLY want it. You can always just flip yourself around on the GHD and do reverse hypers that way. I don't really see the NEED, unless you're using it for rehab.

Re: Reverse Hyper or GHD?

GHD definitely-best equipment piece for back/hams and iso abs . I ordered the GHD and reverse hyper for office use (Chiro) . I don't have the space in garage so GHD does fine for my reverse hypers.

Re: Reverse Hyper or GHD?

Thanks for the information. Given the price-tag on reverse hyper machines, it sounds like sticking with my stay-ball+flat bench should be fine (my back isn't shot or anything, that I know of, so I don't need rehab).

I haven't been able to figure out any sort of substitute for a GHD though, sounds like I'll need to get one then.

Re: Reverse Hyper or GHD?

I thought I saw a combination GHD/RH machine. Might check into that and just get both of them in one machine. I know GHDs don't appear much on mainsite, but I like to warm up on it a few times a week.
