In the videos, I see a lot of use of the Dynamax balls when doing air squats. Is this primarily to prevent bottoming out stress on the knees during timed workouts? Obviously, it makes for different ranges, and hence workloads, for people of different heights.

TheDynamax balls are used to make sure people are hitting the right depth. You don't actually sit on them.

Of course the flaw is that for different heights the ball may or may not be right but for most average people it's about right

Thanks Don. I was doing full-range squats in yesterdays workout and noticed I had to pay attention not to crash at the bottom. The last time I did a WOD with squats I used a 14" riser (same height as Dynamax ball) and it wasn't full range. In the future, I think I will stick to sacrificing time for more work and do full-range. As much as I love to watch Annie fly through squats on what I believe is the "nasty girls" video, I also notice the irony of what is barely a parallel squat. That is no dis on Annie. She definitely has to make up the difference when dealing with external loads, ala the clean.

It bears noting I'm not without sin. I've been seen throwing in the occassional questionable rep on my weak movements.
