how can I do this on a pull up bar?I read somewhere that on a pu bar, falser grip is simply having your thumbs over the bar as well...

You can do a false grip on a bar with your thumbs around the bar. Just roll the outer part of your wrist forward. It's much tougher to pull off a muscle up on a bar. (unless you kip it a bit).
