Re: My chin went over that bar

Again, thanks all.

To those still working on a pullup, my words of wisdom: just don't give up.

Also, negatives. I hung on the cusp for a while, but doing a few negatives as part of my cooldown for a couple weeks helped get me that last inch or two, I think.

Wow! I was literally going to make a *new topic exactly titled the same thing!
Congratulations!

and, actually, last night on the 8 month anniversary of starting crossfit I got my first pull up too! I have to admit it feels pretty damn fantastic getting the kip to just 'click.' woohoo!

here's to more pull ups! haha :]

Ha! We're crossfit twins

You should still start your own thread, you deserve one too! It's a major accomplishment.

Re: My chin went over that bar

I haven't been able to crossfit as much or as intensely lately, but last night I got THREE overhand pull ups in a row!

how have you progressed, Kristin?

and, any advice would be helpful -
but before getting that first pull up last week I was considering investing in a jump stretch band or two. Now that I've got the kip, I'm not so sure but I am definitely still far away from a dead hang pull up and think that a band would help.. but doing the kip is still a lot of fun. Does anyone think I should still put the money into a band? or will doing enough kipping pull ups help me with the strict?

Re: My chin went over that bar

I think you should just kip. I never used bands.... couldn't do a DH when I started 8 months ago, now I can do like 4 in a row. Couldn't kip either and I just did 21 in a row on Saturday.
I think you're good to go!
