Are there any people in here who do not work out on Sundays, due to religious beliefs? If so, what do you do in order to make the schedule of crossfit?

God doesn't want you to be in shape?

Seriously, what's the problem? You have 6 other days to kill yourself. Sunday can be your rest day. If you give up other things for religious reasons, why should one day of working out be any different?

Kris,

I'm not of a judaist or christian religious background, but I do devote my sundays to mindfulness with meditation and then t'ai chi when I wake up and a generally restful day. When there are WODs on sunday, I do them, and focus on relaxation of the body before and afterwords. It's not work, it's living :]

Kris,

You could try the 5 on 2 off Crossfit template. Or just take an extra day off on Sunday.

Brendan,

Thank you for your quote: "It's not work, it's living."

In my line of work, I usually work on Sundays anyway, as it is kind of a necessity.

I'm not very strict about it, but I try to rest on Sundays for church, community, and reflection. Here are two more ideas:

1) If a workout falls on Sunday, make it up on the next rest day if you're up to it. This is what I do. It synchs well with my workout partners' schedules.

2) Take Sundays off and alternate taking off Wednesdays and Thursdays every other week. In a four week cycle, you'll skip one WOD.

It's a minor point, but if you skip a WOD, it might be better to skip one that exercises your relative strengths. Or just do active rest with a modified WOD. Some people stay 3 days or more behind in the cycle so they can plan ahead. Hope this helps.

Since I've not even completed a week, yet, I'll do what I have to do to figure it out.

Thanks to all for your advice.
