Question for Coach and Senior Crossfit Members,

I was attending an adult gymnastics class last year and I noticed a few other people on the message board were doing it as well. We had the same problem, we were left to our own devices rather than being coached. If you senior members can give us a list of important skills to work on besides the normal ones (muscle ups, rope climb, parralettes etc.) to bring to these classes, I would join up again next week. Perhaps a good topic for a CF Journal?

Thanks, you guys are invaluable to me

Nick

Nick-

This is a good place to start:

One possibility might be to find one of the coaches in your area and have them work with you on some specific movements and video tape the whole thing. Emphasize transitions and proper position.

Or perhaps we all need to do a road trip to see Roger every other weekend!

Good luck and keep us posted
Robb

Unfortunately many adult gymnastics classes are just "open gyms". I do not run adult classes this way, but most gyms do. Rarely are the classes geared towards real progress. Occasionally you will find a core group that really wants to push, but most of the time it's far too casual. Try and encourage the class/group to really push, you might be able to change the mindset.
