Just for kicks, how many crossfitters out there either play rugby or were at one time associated to rugby. If you could, also put where, when, and what position. For me, just finished playing at UC Davis and I played 8/lock/blind side.

John- It looks as though we are the only true athletes in this whole pot. Do you still play now?

I played with the Marine team at K-bay, Hawaii for a couple seasons('00-'02). Played everything but 8 at one point or another. Not a pretty boy, so the back line wouldn't have me! Must have been the hair or something. I will tell you this, though, those island boys are BIG!

Final year at UC Davis for me. Flyhalf mostly with a little bit of fullback.

John, my Dad coached SD State back in 85-87. 87 was the year they won the national championship. Undefeated against Cal those 3 years as well.

Justin, I know what you mean about big island boys. Back in highschool I had to play Burbank every year. They were all giant islanders. I remember their flyhalf was bigger than our props. I swear those guys are already as big as grown men by the time they are 12.

I played for a long time in Michigan. The Flint Rogues RFC from '87 to '93 and the Tri-City Barbarians from '93 to'01

Early on I played at loose forward and 8-man. The last few years my size and strength made me a formidable prop, though my mobility suffered.

Not bad boys! I do notice a majority of forwards, though. Perhaps a connection with position and toughness?? I don't know...:proud:
