Just wondering.... How long had you been training Crossfit style before you become a trainer and/or started up your centre?

What was your background before that?

I would love to hear your stories if you are in the mood to share (purely for inspirational purposes )

Kristi,
I had been working with people for years before I started CrossFit. About the same time I wrote the letter that is on the entry page for the board, I quit setting up different plans for people. It was a waste of my time.

I was pretty much into running and powerlifting before I switched over. Never had much of an interest in the aesthetic aspect of it, the look was always a side effect. The addition of the gymnastics stuff has made a huge impact on my philosophy of conditioning.

Kristi,

I have been a fitness instructor on this little island of mine for nearly 6 years now. My background was in athletics to a fairly high level and as such was familiar, and in love with, olympic lifting. As such however i adopted the blinkered view that cardiovascular exercise and strength training/weights were totally seperate monsters in the gym. Boy was i wrong!

I was put onto CrossFit and it has totally changed how i train personally and how i train others. I integrated it easily into my personal training sessions and into my life. I'm sure other trainers recognise how hard it is to find the time and sometimes motivation for your own training!? CrossFit solved that for me.

My clients are achieving their goals and i feel stronger, faster and more flexible than i have ever done. If only i'd had this training tool when i was competing, i might've been giving you antipodeans and US guys a run on the middle distances!
