Re: Dan P's Workout Log

45.M.72.179

5P-6P, Cool, 40's.

Squat: 155x3x5
Ring Dips: 7,7,7
Press: 115lbs.
First attempt, 3 reps. form all over the place. Backed off to 95x5x3. Right arm is immobile around elbow.
Pull-ups: 3,2,1

Thrilled with the squat results. If I do the ring dips before the press my press results stink. Other way around I can't do any dips. May add the ring dips as an assistance exercise rather than a replacement for the bench press. Deadlifts Monday.

Cold, 20's

OHS Warmup 5" Black Pipe 10x3

then...

Disaster strikes!!

Squats: 165x5, 165x4 (insert signs of impending doom here; ignored, of course.), 165, failure as mushroom cloud spreads across low back.

Down for the count...again. Doctor tomorrow and another round of methyl prednisone. I need guidance. I push too hard and boom. I need someone to remind me of the difference between working hard and working dangerously. At least I'm consistent. Consistently stupid. Time for more ice. Damn.

Injury Update

Not as bad as I thought last night. Much more mobility than last time. Since I stopped, iced, and took Naproxen immediately I think I minimized the damage. Whew!

Appointment with doctor this afternoon. Rope climbs, dips and pullups for a few weeks. Walking lunges around the house.

Much, much better today. Couple of twinges here and there but I'll be back to bodyweight workouts by the weekend. Whew.
