Need a new Barbell

Hey guys my barbell just broke (it was a cheap one off craigslist). Anyway I've been crossfitting for about 2 years now so I know I'm committed and want a good bar. What good bar to get at a reasonable price? Also why do you like that specific bar. I've looked at rogue, rage, again faster but am open to any brand.

Re: Need a new Barbell

What do you plan to do with the bar? If you are going to do mostly Oly lifting, going with a Rogue Training or bearing bar, or a Pendlay HD/NB bar would be your best bet. If you are doing more mixed use, the Rogue 2.0, Rogue Ohio, or Team AF bar would be your best bet.

I like the Rogue 2.0 bar. It is the best mixed use bar for the price out there.

If you treat it right, and granted you're not a very serious olympic lifter, any good bar from the companies that have been mentioned will be more than sufficient for your uses.

Hm. A whole bunch of stuff got removed from this thread. Weird. In any case, a lot of info you're looking for can probably be found in my (wfs) thread here:

http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=87708

And FYI, I did end up going with the 28mm trainer bar from Rogue, and am very happy with it. I actually signed in today just to update this because I didn't really get to put it to use till yesterday, but all my posts disappeared.

If you look through the various sub-forums, it looks like everything from like 10/12 till sometime over the weekend got deleted. Maybe somebody tripped over the power cord.

Re: Need a new Barbell

I've had the Rogue Power Bar for about a year and love it. I don't do any Olympic lifting due to space limitations in my garage but it's solid for the power lifts...I notice a little bit of bounce on heavy squats but there's pretty minimal flex even when pulling 525lbs.

It looks like they've changed some of their SKUs so the Ohio Power Bar now looks like the closest thing. The 2.0 Bar also looks very good but I prefer center knurling for a bar I'm going to squat with.
