Preventing a Cut Climbing Rope End from Fraying

I just cut the ends of our climbing ropes and want to keep them from fraying. Should I just burn the ends or is there a better solution?

Whip it. Whip it good.

Rogue's climbing rope is whipped on the end, and they slide a rubber sleeve with their logo over the whipping.

The easiest way is to tape the section tightly before cutting. If you've already cut it, you can just wrap with duct tape
