As everyone else has said, Crossfit usually entails their athletes following a diet method that rids of sugars and refined carbohydrates, so that accounts for most of their results in terms of body fat.

But on top of that, Crossfit really benefits from high intensity workouts requiring work that moves the body into full extension and flexion all the time (think things that make your whole body move like rowing, burpees, toe 2 bar, deadlift, squat, and olympic lifts). So all of the high intensity workouts has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity (efficient utilization of carbs), and increase the sex hormones responsible for muscle growth and fat burning.
