Re: building muscle and/or burning fat

Hello Alex,

Dont get caught up with the concepts of "bulking" or "cutting".
Since you want to reduce your body fat by 4%, then eat cleaner ( below your TDEE ) and do your workouts as you normally would.

Also, to answer your question whether you can build muscle while loosing fat, yes you can.

When I started working out I was 70,5 kg @ 21% body fat. I started lifting 6 days a week and eating way cleaner than I used to ( including much protein ). After 6 months I measured my stats again, I was at 71,5 kg @ 15,3 or 15,5 body fat.

I gained 1 extra kilo but I also reduced my body fat by ~6% at the same time.

Re: building muscle and/or burning fat

I may be wrong but I've always believed in the philosophy of .. train hard, eat healthy, and the way you look will take care of itself. It's never done me wrong.

In fact, 7 years ago I was an obese 270 lbs. now I'm a solid 215.

Focus on the process not the results.

Re: building muscle and/or burning fat

My best advice is train and eat the way the athletes you want to look like do. If you want to look like a marathon runner, train and eat like one. If you want to look like a crossfit games athlete then you will have to train and eat like one.
