I've never eaten a fig before and after the photo on the main page I think i've been missing out. Since the recipe isn't out yet I found one that might be pretty good for breakfast, any others are welcome :-)

Baked Apples with Fresh Figs and Honey

Ingredients:
4 crisp, tart apples
2 Tbsp honey
1 ripe fresh fig
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp chopped pecans

Directions:
Core apples and pare a 1-inch strip of skin around the top or middle. (This helps prevent the skin from splitting). Peel and chop the fig and combine with syrup and cinnamon. Fill each apple with small amount of fig mixture. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Pour about ¼ inch of water into baking dish and place apples inside. Bake about 35 minutes or until apples are tender when pierced with fork. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tell you what Frank, choice figs are excellent ANY way you can imagine, at least in my world. Chilled, hot, with dinner, without, breakfast, in between, etc, etc. How about with yogurt, cinnamon, ice cream, pnut butter, wine, or even chocolate? It wasn't for nothin' that Christ spoke a parable about figs!

Oh my god, fresh figs from the tree are heavenly.

Better than chocolate.

Well, you can eat them raw, baked, roasted, or zapped even. I like them raw mostly, with some other condiment such as mentioned above. Check it out: http://www.californiafigs.com/recipes/index.html
I haven't eaten them in a while and now I'm jonesing for 'em.
