I have just realized that there are a decent sized set of stairs near where I live. Does anyone have any stair workouts or suggestions?

Istavan Javorek's workouts all end with some stair work. From his workout:
4x Double leg bounding 4x stair run&Jump&sprint 4x double leg zig zag 4x stair sprint no break check out his website for a video on this |

If the weather is sufficiently bad to close my gym, I'll sometimes do a couple of runs up and down the entire 40 floors of my apartment building. (Hooray, NYC skycrapers!)
The biggest problem is getting dizzy from the stairs changing direction at each half-floor. But, if I can push past that, it's an absolutely brutal cardio and leg workout. |

Joshua-
Just alternate the direction you turn in. You end up doing these little 3/4 spins, but it keeps the dizziness away for me. |

Part of training at Pepperdine was running stairs and hills. We (goalies) would run them either carrying another teammate or a section of railroad tie/telephone pole.
I still do it occasionally, I've got a section of railroad tie on my back porch that I use. |
