Stick with old WODs or skip to the current ones?

Due to laziness and stress, i put Crossfit on hold for about 3 months last year. On top of that, when i did do Crossfit, it was perhaps twice or thrice a week. I had no exercise other than that.

As a result, i got 'stuck' in last year's WODs, and i'm only in September.

Should i fast-forward and start doing this year's WODs?

I have heard 2006 was a very good year...
The only benefit I can think of from being "current" on the WODs is participating in the ongoing discussions in the comments and message boards.
Other than that, as long as you are not cherry-picking your WODs, you should be fine following any period.

I have no idea what you're asking?

Go hammer and tongs at the WODs. Train with consistency.

The programming is done with purpose and reason. Scale when necessary. Starting point is irrelevant.

Andrew, the beauty of CrossFit is that you can jump in at any time and just move ahead with the program. I personally like to stay a couple weeks behind the main site though because I workout on my own. This helps me program my time and workouts a lot better and figure out what equipment I'll need. It also helps when there is a WOD I can't do for whatever reason (equipment, skill, etc...) to just skip ahead to the next one.

Ian made a good point about the discussions, but since most of the information on CrossFit is archived, you can always just do some research to see if your question(s) was already asked and see what answers were given.

You should be fine at wherever you decide to get back into it at.

Mainsite isn't periodized, and until someone gives a decent explanation of the programming, I'm not convinced it's not random.

So jump in wherever you want.
