Hey my brothers and sister of all things fitness! So which one is "better"? Give me your pros and cons. What do you guys think about them?

Well Progenex is incredibly overpriced and looking at Nutriwhey it seems to be overpriced as well considering it is just whey concentrate. Why not just get some ON Gold Standard whey?

Because they sponsor CrossFit events they are the only supplements allowed to be taken by CrossFitters, isn't it obvious

What's your goal with protein powder? Are you having a hard time getting your protein needs from whole food or is for enhanced recovery?

The same product as Progenex Recovery in the ON line would be the Platinum (all hydrolyzed whey), which looks to be about the same price. I don't like most protein shakes, and my stomach and body do better with the 100% hydrolyzed product. Maybe it is in my head, but I have less bloat and my recovery seems to be better than isolate wheys.

I was a pretty big skeptic, but an friend of mine that is a doctor (MD) swears by the stuff. I figured I would bite the bullet and try the stuff for a month. One month wasn't going to break the bank, and it isn't that much more expensive. So far, I definitely like Progenex better than my old Isoflex and my recovery seems to be better. Again, it could all be in my head, but I don't think so. Also, with Progenex I don't have any stomach bloat and other GI issues.

I say if you want to try it and you aren't going to break the bank, try it and see if it works for you better than other alternatives. If there is no difference than your past recovery drink that is cheaper, just go back to it.

If you are dead set of hydrolyzed isolate, which I have a feeling you would be just fine with regular isolate, I would get it from here:

You pretty much won't find a cheaper source

Have you considered using a blended protein (e.g., whey, casein, egg)? I don't know how they would sit with your stomach, but there are several studies that indicate net retention is better with a blended protein vs. whey only.

"In general, however, the study at hand clearly supports the notion that protein blends that are designed to provide a sustained elevation of all essential amino acids in the blood (not just BCAAs, learn why) will induce a superior growth response."
