Thinnest 45lb bumper?

Any recommendations on the thinnest 45lb bumper to keep space on the barbell?

It's not for olympic lifts but more to protect my floor from deadlifts and allowing actually more room for the small plates.

If your ok with iron plates that's definitely your best bet. Other than that the competition bumpers from pendlay or Rogue take up the least space as far as bumpers go. The Black style "training"bumpers will also cost less than the colored, but the colored ones look cool.

The smallest bumper plates would probably be the Pendlay Competition bumpers.

Probably Iron, then competition bumpers, and then it looks like repfitness might have the thinnest of the 45lb black rubber bumpers. They have a video with 515 on the bar with collars, all black rubber bumpers

Re: Thinnest 45lb bumper?

Depends on the amount you are lifting. For deadlifts, I pull 565lbs and I can only use iron plates. Actually, deads are the only lift I have to use iron plates. The rest I just use standard bumper plates.

Re: Thinnest 45lb bumper?

thanks I'll check these all out.

My lifting platform is basically a 1/2" rubber mat so I prefer to use bumpers to protect my floor. Obviously, I'd have no problem getting Iron on there. Just being extra cautious wanting the bumpers. Right now I have 2 sets of 45s, then have to use 35's and 25's to get to 400 plus which then gets crowded when you add on the smaller iron plates. So thinking about getting another pair of 45's to create more room.

Could always get some extra-heavy bumpers. I haven't seen them in person, but do 55# rubber training bumpers take less room on the bar?

Re: Thinnest 45lb bumper?

You could buy a pair of 50kg DHS bumpers from http://www.dynamic-eleiko.com/

wfs

They cost $239 each.

Don't think you would need too many of those bad boys.
