Eating postpartum...

I gave birth 3 weeks ago to a healthy beautiful baby girl. Now that I have my body back, I want to start the road back to my old self! I gained 50lbs with my pregnancy. I crossfitted until I was put on bed rest 3 1/2 weeks before she was born. I'm breastfeeding and I know i can't cut calories too much, but I would like to start back on the zone. Any suggestions on blocks? Or should I just follow a general zone rule for meals and snacks? I've also started walking/jogging this past week, so I know i need to account for activity and for breastfeeding.

There's been a lot of discussion on this......most will tell you to just eat and not worry about weight loss right now, because breastfeeding will take care of it naturally. But you already know that.

But, if you really want to get back into zone parameters, figure out your zone blocks, then add 300-500 more calories worth of blocks in (recommended extra calories by several baby books). Protein and carbs are 4kcal per gram, fat is 9kcal per gram. I think this adds up to about 4-7 more blocks a day. Monitor yourself and your baby.
