Need scaling advice for Diane today

Last time I scaled Deadlift to 125 lbs and took about 13:30 to complete. This time, should I increase the weight or try 125 again until I can get my times lower? Deadlifts are a big weakness for me. HSPUs are easy.

Stats in case you need them...32/m/150/5'9

Thanks for input.

Re: Need scaling advice for Diane today

I'm in the opposite dilemma... I should be able to do the 225# deadlifts (although I won't be so bold as to call them easy), but I tried last night to see how I'd do and I could only do one good form HSPU against the wall, although that was within a half-hour of doing the 4x800 runs, so we'll see how that goes. Of course, I'm carrying about 10% more body fat than I should be right now, so I'm basically doing weighted HSPU's... I'm thinking I'm going to go with a strict overhead press for substitution, just not sure on the weight yet.

Jimi,

From my experience, I plan to go for the following in order.
1) Form
2) Match the Rx'd weight
3) improve the times

For my first Diane, I added weight to the deadlift as the rep numbers decreased. I was unsure of how far I could push this exercise. Each time we see Diane I hope to increase the weight.
WO A
21 x 185
15 x 205
9 x 225

WO B
21 x 190
15 x 210
9 x 225

WO C
21 x 195
15 x 215
9 x 225

etc.

Depending on how I feel, I may increase those numbers faster.

Re: Need scaling advice for Diane today

I went with everyones advice and increased the weight. Did 155 instead of 125 and still came in with a time of 10:30 so I'm pretty happy. I'm going to shoot for 175 next time to see what happens.
