Hello:

For a variety of reasons, I choose to do Xfit 4 days a week rather than 3 on 1 off.

How would you recommend choosing WODs?

If I just do the WOD of the day I happen to be working out, might I risk doing the same sort of work out repeatedly?

The WODs are clearly very varied, but they are not truely random, are they? If they are, I might as well do the WOD, if not, I should chose my workouts more thoughtfully.

Thanks for the help,

Jerimiah

i think they are totally random...so if you just picked 4 at random out of a hat, you might do well. another idea is focusing on the things you know that you need to work on, like your rowing times or maybe your max back squat.

btw, nice picture. is that indian creek or zion? i'm hoping to be a climbing guide/teach for outward bound/nols once i get out of school.

I would make your fourth workout really focus on muscles you don't use climbing... i.e. pushups, thrusters, etc. Those pull-up muscles don't need any more training :-)

(I even back off the pull muscles during the WOD, but then my major hole is my delts. I can do pullups with no problem, but ask me to do a dip... start laughing now! Its not going to happen).

good call, karin.

i'm currently trying (yeah...trying...) to rest a finger-tendon overuse injury, so i'm doing more push-based gymnastics at the moment. i'm working towards a fully-controlled handstand (maybe some walking, too) and a planche. all that body control and push-strength would be applicable when climbing big off-widths or chimneys.
