Running's getting easier.
I've been doing CrossFit since late July and I love it, but I didn't realize until today how much it's been doing for my running because typically I haven't run more than half a mile at a time doing the WODs. This morning I had to go to squadron PT and we did about half an hour of calisthenics and then a run from the base gym to the gate and back, which was 3.6 miles round-trip and uphill on the way back. I have never run 3.6 miles in my life. Ever. I've done a couple 5K's before and I'll be honest, the last one was a couple years ago and I stopped to walk a couple times. This morning I didn't stop at all. I was barely breathing hard and the only thing slowing me down was some pain in my knees and ankles (still waiting to find out if I have arthritis). It's a pretty good feeling every time I surprise myself with my improvements. Did I mention I love CrossFit?

I think I should keep a running tally of stuff I'm able to do now that I've never done before.
1. 3.6 mile run without stopping 2. 20" box jump 3. I CLIMBED A 15 FOOT ROPE! Things to work on: 5 mile run, 24" box jump, pullups with no band, double unders, handstand pushups. Someday. *sigh* I love CrossFit. Love. It. |

Great, Amber! Glad to hear you like CrossFit and that it is having such a positive impact on you!
It's great finding out we can do things we never thought we would be able to accomplish. |

24" box jump goal accomplished! Did 20" box jumps through the WOD, but tried 24" afterwards. Did three to make sure the first one wasn't a fluke.
