Myself and the other coaches at the Crossfit WV box are going to do 225lb deadlift, 300 reps for time. Anyone else wanna try and complete this crazy *** feat?

Re: Deadlift Challenge

I've got a head start on you - I'm 117 reps in already!

...it's taken me approx. 2 years so you might just edge me out if you start right away

Re: Deadlift Challenge

Ouch! I hurt just reading that...why not 20 reps at 405lb or something like that?

Re: Deadlift Challenge

Each person does 300 reps, or is this a team event?

300 reps hurts just thinking about it. Sounds worse than the burpee mile, you might not be ABLE to lay down after that.

Re: Deadlift Challenge

I would make sure you actually start each from a dead stop (no bouncing), don't hitch the bar, and drop it from the top , otherwise you're going to be incredibly sore the day after.

Re: Deadlift Challenge

300 reps deadlift...that's like rowing 300 strong strokes, which should be ~3k meters (10m/stroke). So depending how strong your deadlift is, that should be about 10min, up to 20min b/c the deadlift is more fatiguing than rowing.

I'd be most worried about my grip failing...this is one time I'd consider lifting straps

I'd love to hear the outcome to see how wrong my guesses are!

Re: Deadlift Challenge

Jeb, what are your guys DL and how much time are you going to allow for? A couple of hours?

What "Melissa" told me is that you need to have uber amounts of work capacity/strength-endurance to do stuff like this.

20 min = 1200 seconds

300 reps

4 seconds per for 20 minutes. No chance.
