The Ten Pound Challenge started at the end of last August. My weight had crept up to 151 lbs., and I wanted to drop 10 pounds and a few people were interested in a challenge where we would post our workouts and our food diaries. We did this together for two months. In that time, I dropped my weight down to 144, where it's been pretty steady. So I didn't lose 10 pounds, but I seem to be at a good place at this weight. My body keeps changing even though the scale weight stays the same--I'm losing inches off my waist and gaining muscle in my upper body, where I need it.

A few very experienced Crossfitters who are really interested in nutrition sort of wound up "coaching" those of us trying to lose fat, and that's how I wound up changing up my diet along paleo lines, and how I came to try the Zone as well.

If you ever want a place to post your food journals, or ask questions, or get support for weight loss, feel free to come by and post. Lots of good cheerleaders there.

I had a good day today. Enjoyed the workshop a lot, and felt better in my joints after all the squats---my knee has been pretty wonky lately. Got my 10,000 meters in today, I'm up to 30,000. Only 170,000m left to go before Xmas Eve!

Susie

Basically, it's 200,000m between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve. There's a log on the concept2 website (www.concept2.com)-w/f safe- and it keeps track of your meters rowed for you.

What do get for this lofty effort? A printable certificate, and the opportunity to purchase an overpriced Tshirt. (My son Greg completed the last challenge, Skeleton Crew, and I bought him the Tshirt, and it's a really nice one.)

George is doing it as well, and I've adopted his approach: 10,000m on 20 days instead of 7000 m. for 30. Day 3 and I'm still alive.

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

Hey, hey, hey Albany Crossfit people......cannot WAIT to see y'all tomorrow night. It's about the only thing I'm looking forward to when returning to that sub-arctic hellhole from this lovely land! Alas.......

Elizabeth, not full rx because I didn't have rings so did regular dips, and kinda did power cleans instead of full cleans. Whatever, got the heart rate up.....

8:44

Then I wandered around the gym and was like "Hey, I'll do some squats" and did like ten and got tired of them, then did 50 pullups but tired of that, then kinda picked up weights and put em down for awhile, then sat and looked myself long and hard in the mirror challenging myself, saying to myself "You WILL do more! You will workout very intensely right.......NOW!"

So I went home and took a shower.....eh.

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

Warm-up:
3 rounds
samson stretch 15"
Berg warm-up w/45# bar
10 OH squats
10 GHD sit-ups
10 back ext
10 dead hang pull-ups
10 ring dips

Ran 5k in 24'01" (a PR for me). I HATE running, so it's nice to have this 9 week program which includes a $hitload of running. Oh, I also need work on my strength and strength endurance. Guess what else the program focuses on So, hopefully, I'll have worked some of my weaknesses before I head to Texas.

Paula and Bruce did a great job completing the CFWU before they did a scaled version of "Ivan the Terrible" -> "Ivan the Benign", maybe. Bruce broke a sweat! They both did great.

Brett - I can't say enough how impressed I am with what you have done with Bruce. Like I said before, he has never done anything but the elliptical, now you have him doing "Ivan the terrible" or even "Ivan the nice guy", still so amazing! Keep up the great work!

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

I think Jason should make tonight super hard to welcome Luke back. Im thinking something along the lines of Lasky's 1st class... only worse.

Re: Albany CrossFit Workout Log

That's a great idea...the class where I almost died right?

My little sister is coming tonight to her first class...she should experience what I did!
